Embassy failed to inform Filipinos here: Claims group of online service launched in March
Filipinos in Sabah often face a logistical nightmare in securing consular assistance.
Kota Kinabalu: The Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Digital eApostille System, launched recently, will end the difficulties many Filipinos in Sabah face in securing consular help for their documents.

“Filipinos in Sabah often face a logistical nightmare in securing consular assistance,” said a group calling themselves Concerned Filipino Professionals Sabah (CFPS).

They said that for decades, Filipinos in the state were forced to choose between expensive journeys to the embassy in Kuala Lumpur or falling prey to predatory fixers and “recruitment agencies” that charge exorbitant fees to handle documentation.

The Digital eApostille System was launched on March 16 to ease the burden of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and Filipino migrants abroad who need consular assistance.
