Kota Kinabalu: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has detained another suspect over the alleged submission of documents containing false particulars involving cleaning work claims amounting to about RM500,000.
A source said the male suspect, in his 40s, was detained at about 3.30pm on Tuesday when he went to give a statement at the MACC office here.
Preliminary investigations indicate the suspect, a civil servant and director of a contractor company, is believed to have colluded with another male suspect, a construction company director, who was previously detained on Monday.
The suspect is linked to the same case involving the alleged submission of documents with false particulars to obtain a cleaning contract at a police office in the State worth about RM500,000.
Sabah MACC Director Datuk Mohd Fuad Bee Basrah confirmed the arrest, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
