KOTA KINABALU: A 36-year-old unemployed man, Jul Ahmad, pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court on Thursday to a charge of causing hurt during a robbery.
He is accused of assaulting Velantine Jeffry, 36, at a car park in Papar between 1:00 AM and 2:30 AM on December 11, 2024, while allegedly stealing a mobile phone and a vehicle belonging to the victim’s friend.
Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan set June 11 and 12 for the trial after Jul claimed trial to the offence under Section 394 of the Penal Code.
Two other accomplices involved in the case have already pleaded guilty and been sentenced.

Jul was granted bail at RM6,000 with two sureties and ordered to report to a police station monthly until the case is resolved.
