LAHAD DATU: Police arrested four men in separate operations at Kampung Simpang Berkat and Batu 8 Jalan Segama here for drug-related offences on Tuesday.
District Police Chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said that at about 11.30am, police arrested two local men at a hut in Kampung Simpang Berkat.
He said a further inspection found seven translucent plastic packets containing syabu weighing 5.28 grammes, along with six aluminium foils inside a small container in one of the suspect’s bags.
Urine tests conducted on the two suspects, aged 38 and 42, found both of them positive for drug use.
“In a separate operation at Kampung Segama Batu 8, an Indonesian man was detained after police found a plastic packet containing drugs in his possession.
“The 43-year-old suspect also tested positive for consuming drugs,” he said.
Another local man was detained at the Lahad Datu Narcotic Crime Investigation Office on the same day after his urine tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
Dzulbaharin said the cases are being investigated under Section 39A(1), Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
He added that the operations reflect the Lahad Datu Police Headquarters’ continuous commitment to combating drug-related activities in the district.
