LAHAD DATU: Six people, including two children, were injured when their Toyota Hilux Single Cab (4WD) skidded at KM 33 Jalan Lahad Datu-Sandakan on Monday.
District Fire and Rescue Station Chief Sumsoa Rashid said the department received a distress call via NG999 at 8.16am. A team of nine personnel, along with machinery and an EMRS vehicle, was dispatched to the scene, located 30km from the station.
Upon arrival, the operations commander reported that the 4WD had skidded to the road shoulder and landed on its side. Six victims, four adults, a girl and a boy were injured, but none were trapped inside the vehicle.
The victims received initial treatment before being transported to Lahad Datu Hospital by EMRS vehicle, KKM ambulance, and Civil Defense Force ambulance.
The operation concluded at 9.26am after ensuring the area was safe.
