TELUPID: A family in Taman Telupid Villa, here, claim to have been robbed of over RM600,000 in cash and jewellery by an armed gang around noon on Monday.
The victim, who declined to be named, said she was lying down when the suspects confronted her in a room. She told Daily Express one of them held a knife to her neck and ordered her to hand over the cash and jewellery.
“We had no choice but to comply out of fear. The group then fled. My family is deeply traumatised and we never expected such an incident to happen,” she said.
According to the victim, the suspects gained entry by prying open the iron grille of a window before unlocking the door from inside.
“However, we are unsure how the suspects escaped, whether by vehicle or otherwise,” she said. The victim claimed they were able to identify several suspects, one of whom is believed to be a former convict.
“It is understood that one suspect has been arrested, but others are still at large.”
As of now, the media is awaiting further details from the authorities on the incident. The case has gone viral on social media, including images of some suspects believed involved.
