SEMPORNA: Police from the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division arrested two Filipinos and a local in separate operations, here, on Monday for drugs.
District Police Chief Superintendent Tan Hiap Wah said the first arrest involved a 20-year-old local man found in possession of 0.09gm of Syabu in a translucent plastic.
The second suspect, a 24-year-old Filipino, was discovered with two plastics containing a total of 0.23gm of Syabu. Both suspects will be remanded and investigated under Section 12(3) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
In a separate operation the same day, police arrested a 34-year-old Filipino after finding 5.91 grammes of Syabu stored in a cigarette box.
He will be remanded for investigation under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
Superintendent Tan stressed that Semporna Police will not tolerate drug abuse or trafficking and will continue to intensify operations in hotspot areas.
