Father watches as son attacked by crocodile in Kinabatangan

KINABATANGAN: A man was attacked by a crocodile while casting a net for prawns in a river at Kampung Segaliud here on Tuesday night.

The victim, Mohd Rayyan Abdullah, 28, was reportedly seized by the reptile at about 8.22pm in front of his father, who was also at the scene.

It is understood the father could only watch as the victim was dragged away by the crocodile and disappeared into the river.

Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Station chief Assistant Fire Superintendent Hairi Otuh said a team of four personnel was deployed to the location, about 30 kilometres from the station, after receiving a distress call.
