SIPITANG: A 43-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine, commonly known as syabu, during a routine police patrol.
The incident occurred when MPV personnel observed the suspect riding a Honda RS-X 150 motorcycle in a suspicious manner along Jalan Kg Luagan, Sindumin.

The suspect attempted to flee and displayed aggressive behaviour when approached, but police successfully apprehended him.
A search revealed a clear plastic packet containing approximately 0.98 grams of crystalline substance believed to be syabu, concealed inside a wallet within his sling bag.
Supt Awang Anak Suanda, Sipitang District Police Chief, emphasized the importance of public cooperation in combating crime and drug abuse.
Residents with information regarding criminal or drug-related activities were urged to report to the nearest police station.
In Lahad Datu, police arrested three men suspected of drug-related offenses following two separate operations on Jalan Silam and Jalan Pantai.
The first operation involved a raid on a room in Kampung Sharip, Jalan Silam, by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division on Thursday night.
During the raid at 11:30 pm, two men aged 26 and 30 were arrested, and 0.05 grams of suspected syabu along with drug-use tools were recovered.
Urine tests confirmed that one of the men had consumed drugs, and investigations were conducted under Sections 12(2) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
