Kota Kinabalu: A total of 1,026 recipients were conferred Sabah State honours, stars and medals by Head of State Tun Musa Aman (
pic) in conjunction with his official birthday on Monday (March 30).
Prominent Malaysian businessman and oil and gas corporate figure Datuk Abdul Farish Abdul Rashid was among the top recipients.
He was conferred the Seri Panglima Darjah Kinabalu (SPDK), which carries the title “Datuk Seri Panglima”.
Also receiving the SPDK were Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail and Chief Justice of Malaysia, Datuk Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh.
A total of 79 recipients were awarded the Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu (PGDK), which carries the title “Datuk”.
Among them were Sungai Manila assemblyman Hazem Mubarak Musa, Kinabatangan Member of Parliament Mohd Kurniawan Naim Moktar and Political Secretary to the KPDN Minister Mohammad Ghazali Hajiji.
Other recipients included Kota Kinabalu Journalist Association President Jimmy Goh Kian Kiong, PDRM Bukit Aman Secretary DCP Abdul Rahman Kassim, Eastern Fleet Commander Vice Admiral Datuk Khir Junaidi Idris and Fifth Infantry Division Commander Brig Gen Datuk Shamshor Jaafar.
Also on the list were Sabah Land and Survey Department director Alan Chua Ming Ling, Sabah Health Department director Dr William Gotulis, Kota Kinabalu High Court Judge Maslinda @ Linda Mohd Ainal and Sabah State Court director Azreena Aziz.
Additional recipients included Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) treasurer Chin Kiang Ming, Kota Kinabalu Umno chief and Wanita Umno exco member Musliati Moslimin, Sabah Electricity chairman Saadiah Aziz and Sabah Land Development Board general manager Datuk Syaheddrul R Joddari.
Musa also conferred the Justice of the Peace (JP) title to 13 recipients and awarded other state medals, including the Ahli Darjah Kinabalu (192 recipients), Bintang Setia Kinabalu (260 recipients), Bintang Kinabalu (249 recipients) and Certificate of Honour (113 recipients), with several Sabah media practitioners among those recognised.
