Civil servant among four held in Lahad Datu: Drugs
The three suspects detained.
LAHAD DATU: Police arrested four individuals, including a civil servant, in two separate operations by the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division, here, on Wednesday.

District Police Chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said a 22-year-old foreigner was arrested in the first raid at 12.15pm in the Jalan Reno Fajar area.

He said a translucent plastic containing substances believed to be syabu weighing 0.14gm and aluminium foil were found in the suspect’s bag.

The undocumented suspect is being detained for investigation under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

At 4.30pm the same day, a translucent packet containing five plastic packets filled with substances believed to be syabu weighing 0.58gm was seized from a Proton Saga parked at the parking area in Jalan Seroja.

Four aluminium foils and a modified straw were also seized.

Dzulbaharin said a 29-year-old civil servant was detained together with a 24-year-old man and 27-year-old woman for further investigations.

Urine tests conducted on the suspects found all three positive for taking amphetamine and methamphetamine.

Further checks showed two of them have previous criminal records related to drugs.

The case is being investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
