TAWAU: A 31-year-old motorcyclist died after being hit from behind by a 4WD, causing him to crash into a van ahead on Jalan Utara Baru around 3.15pm, Monday.

The accident involved a Honda RSX 150, a Nissan Urvan, and a Mitsubishi Triton amid heavy traffic and ongoing road upgrades.

Both drivers were uninjured, while the 4WD driver was detained for investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Police urged all road users to drive responsibly, especially in congested areas.
