Kota Kinabalu: A mother told the coroner on Wednesday that her daughter only disclosed the incident involving Zara Qairina Mahathir three months later due to trauma.

The 66th deponent said her daughter appeared emotional, stressed and was sobbing uncontrollably when recounting the incident.

The 41-year-old deponent said her daughter, the 65th deponent, told her that her friend Zara had jumped from a hostel building and asked her to pray for her.

She said she was informed of the matter on July 16, 2025, while at the Likas Hockey Stadium for a hockey tournament.
