Mukah: Two local men were arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs at Jalan Bukut, Balingian here recently.
According to
Suara Sarawak, the arrests were made at about 12.45pm by a team from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division of the Mukah District Police Headquarters.
Mukah District Police Chief Muhamad Rizal Alias said police stopped a four-wheel drive vehicle under suspicious circumstances at a heavy vehicle workshop before conducting an inspection.
He said a transparent straw tube containing crystalline substances believed to be methamphetamine, weighing about 0.38 gram, was found inside a cigarette box.
The 24-year-old driver and a 30-year-old passenger were detained, with the older suspect testing positive for drugs, and both remanded until April 4 under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
