RANAU: Sabah’s 2025 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results showed an overall improvement based on the State Average Grade (GPN) index compared to the previous year.

(pic) said the GPN for 2025 stood at 4.85 points compared to 5.00 points in 2024, reflecting an improvement of 0.15 points.
He said the achievement gap between candidates in urban and rural areas also narrowed by 0.50 points based on the GPN.
The GPN for urban candidates improved to 4.53 points in 2025 from 4.65 points in 2024, while rural candidates recorded 5.03 points compared to 5.21 points previously.
He said three candidates obtained straight A+ in all subjects in 2025 compared to six in 2024, while 605 candidates (1.63 per cent) achieved a combination of A+, A and A- compared to 580 (1.64 per cent) previously.
The number of candidates obtaining at least a credit (Grade C) in all subjects rose to 6,150 (16.61 per cent) from 3,437 (9.74 per cent), while those obtaining at least a pass (Grade E) increased to 14,533 (39.24 per cent) compared to 13,265 (37.64 per cent).
