Kota Kinabalu: In recent years, Sabah has recorded encouraging growth in its economic, investment and infrastructure development sectors, reflecting steady progress supported by cooperation between the government and the people.
In a special address during his 75th official birthday celebration at Istana Seri Kinabalu on Monday, Sabah Governor Tun Musa Aman said the state continues to strengthen its economic foundation through key sectors such as agriculture, tourism, industry and resource-based activities.
He said efforts to attract domestic and foreign investments have been intensified to create more employment opportunities and drive sustainable growth across the state.
He added that the development and upgrading of basic infrastructure, including roads, clean water supply systems and stable electricity, remain a priority to safeguard public wellbeing and enhance connectivity between urban and rural areas.
Musa also stressed that planned and resilient infrastructure development is crucial to ensure no community is left behind in Sabah’s overall progress.
He said emphasis is also being placed on education and human capital development to produce a knowledgeable, highly skilled and competitive younger generation aligned with current labour market demands.
He added that healthcare services continue to be strengthened through improved medical facilities and comprehensive services to ensure timely, safe and effective treatment for the people.
Musa said digital transformation in public service delivery is being actively implemented to enhance efficiency, transparency and accessibility, while reaffirming the importance of integrity, accountability and sound financial management in sustaining the state’s stability and prosperity.
