Kota Kinabalu: A total of 13 students from Sabah received education funding from the Yayasan Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Berhad (Angkasa) last year.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick expressed appreciation for Angkasa’s continued commitment in providing education financing to Sabah students.
He said the recipients are pursuing studies in various fields at institutions including Universiti Malaysia Sabah, North Borneo University College, Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Gaya and Universiti Teknologi Mara.
“All of them are children of cooperative members, with funding ranging between RM8,400 and RM17,500 per recipient,” he said after receiving a courtesy call and briefing from Angkasa and its foundation at his office here.
He added that Yayasan Angkasa also provides interest-free education financing that can be converted into scholarships, while supporting efforts to expand assistance to more students in Sabah.
