SANDAKAN: Seven Muslims here caught eating, smoking, and drinking in public during Ramadan and will face strict action.

The operation was conducted in areas behind Wisma Saban Building, the Central Market, behind the Fish Market, and around several restaurants.

Sandakan Administrative Officer of the Sabah State Islamic Religious Affairs Department (Jheains), Ustaz Rahmin Arman, said all those involved would be subjected to action under the Sabah Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment 1995.
