KUNAK: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Semporna Branch carried out Ops Pantau 2026 together with the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) and the Kunak District Council at the Kunak Ramadan Bazaar to ensure compliance with trade laws and food health regulations throughout the fasting month.
A total of 33 premises were inspected by KPDN, and the inspection found that all traders were complying with the enforced regulations. KPDN Semporna Branch Chief Satunlucy Lamioh @ Lamidah said that during the same operation, the Ministry of Health issued one compound of RM200 under the Food Hygiene Regulations 2009 for non-compliance with food hygiene requirements.
Meanwhile, the Kunak District Council also conducted inspections on the 33 premises, including checks on business licenses and food handlers’ health cards.
He stressed that monitoring operations will continue to be intensified to ensure compliance with the law and to protect consumer interests.
