KUNAK: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Kunak recorded an improvement in its School Average Grade (GPS) in the 2025 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination results announced on Tuesday.
Principal Selamat Yusuf said the school’s GPS is 4.64 (for the year 2025) compared to 4.81 in 2024.
“Based on this data, the GPS for SPM results has improved by 0.17,” he said when announcing the SPM examination results at Dewan Seri Bestari, SMK Kunak, here.
A total of 224 candidates were eligible for certificates out of the 234 candidates registered for the 2025 SPM. The SPM pass rate last year recorded 96.55 per cent eligibility for certificates, an increase of 1.88pc compared to 94.67pc in 2024.
SMK Kunak recorded four candidates achieving 9As, six achieving 8As, ten candidates with 7As, and nine candidates with 6As.
Among the top achievers of the 2025 SPM who obtained 9As are Putera Ahmad Najib Nordin, Alin Amrah Sanuddin, Nurul Aleeyza Amirullah and Nurul Aqilah Jamaludin.
The six students who obtained 8As include Nurhafizah Mohammad Nor, Muhammad Nazwan Jan, Putra Farish Iskandar Mohammad Sofian, Nurul Shuhada Qaisara, Elysia Talling and Innocentia Laimin @ Valentine.
