KUNAK: A total of 14 primary schools each received RM20,000, while three secondary schools were allocated RM50,000 each, and one Chinese vernacular school (SJKC) received RM30,000 in financial aid during a presentation ceremony held at the District Education Office (PPD) on Wednesday.
Assistant Minister of Youth Development, Sports and Creative Economy and Kunak assemblyman Datuk Seri Anil Sandhu said the allocation, totalling RM460,000, was part of his election manifesto commitments.
“The disbursement of funds to each school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) reflects my commitment to fulfilling the promises made during the previous state election,” he said.
He added that the initiative aims to strengthen education and support student welfare, particularly in facilitating school programmes and activities organised by PIBGs.
Cheques were presented to school representatives from their respective PIBGs.
Also present were Kunak District Education Officer Dr Suharpi Lasuddang, District Officer Majaran Osman, along with PPD staff, principals and headmasters from schools in the district.
