Kota Kinabalu: Two companies and a company owner claimed trial in separate Sessions Court proceedings here to charges under the Electricity Supply Enactment 2024.
Kemas Handal Sdn Bhd and CCV Retail Sdn Bhd, through their respective directors, and Mahadi Santa pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.
Kemas Handal Sdn Bhd was accused of fraudulently preventing a Sabah Electricity (SE) meter from correctly recording electricity output by disconnecting the blue phase current circuit at a shoplot in Jalan Kampung Air 1, Kampung Air, at 12.50pm on July 30, 2025.
CCV Retail Sdn Bhd was charged with fraudulently preventing an SE meter from properly recording electricity consumption by wrapping the red phase voltage link with colourless adhesive tape at Pick N Pay Express in Jalan Tugu, Kampung Air, at 9.07am on July 30, 2025.
Mahadi was accused of dishonestly taking electricity through a bypass from the busbar isolator switch box without passing through the SE meter and installing electrical wiring without written approval at Heritage Trade and Services in Lorong Plaza Utama 1, Alamesra Plaza Utama, Sulaman Coastal Highway, at about 3pm on the same day.
