PAPAR: Two youths were found drowned at Pokdi Campsite river in Mandalipau here on Tuesday.
The Fire and Rescue Department (BBP) received the emergency call at 10.10am and arrived at the scene at 10.50am after travelling 31km.
Both victims were reported to have been swimming when they were believed to have drowned.
Operations Commander Imamat Tawarid reported that the victims were found by members of the public before the arrival of firefighters.
The victims, identified as Hamidah Abdullah, 15, and Mohd Rafie Abdullah, 18, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Health Ministry.
Their bodies were handed over to the police for further action, and the operation involving eight personnel from BBP Papar was fully concluded at 1pm.
