LAHAD DATU: The management of Akademi Vokasional Teknologi Cemerlang (AVTC) Lahad Datu strongly denied any involvement or connection to an individual or account known as “Dickie Borneo” linked to a video posted on Threads and Facebook that shows an individual stomping on a Quran.
In a statement, AVTC said the individual is not a staff member, lecturer or student of the institution as suggested in several social media posts.
“We are looking seriously at the circulation of inaccurate information that may cause confusion among the public and affecting our reputation.
“We (AVTC Lahad Datu) wishes to clarify that the ‘Dickie Borneo’ has no connection with our institution, whether as a staff member, student or in any form representing us,” said the institution.
AVTC Lahad Datu also advised the public to refrain from speculating or sharing unverified information, especially related to this matter.
The public are encouraged to refer to official sources for accurate information to avoid any misunderstanding or confusion within the community.
AVTC Lahad Datu also reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the integrity of the institution as a centre for skills development and vocational training.
