KUNAK: The General Operations Force (GOF) Kunak, together with the Sabah Veterinary Services Department (JPVS) and the Kunak District Council (MDKNK), conducted two separate raids on business premises here under Op Chiller Sabah 2.0 on Wednesday.
The 22nd Battalion GOF Kunak said the operation, involving the intelligence branch/task force and the Tiger Platoon, led to the detention of four individuals – one woman and three men – suspected of operating frozen food businesses without valid licences and failing to produce invoices for the products being sold.
“The total value of the seized items is estimated at RM391,104.56. All suspects and seized goods have been handed over to JPVS Kunak for further action under Section 15(1) of the Animal Enactment 2015.
“The Kunak GOF special task force remains committed to carrying out operations within its area of responsibility to curb illegal activities.
“This operation demonstrates the effectiveness of intra- and inter-agency cooperation in ensuring food safety and protecting consumer interests in the Kunak district,” the statement said on Friday.
