PENAMPANG: The Ramadan edition of the TeaTalk Programme organised by the Jabatan Penerangan Malaysia (Japen) Sabah has served as a platform to enhance public awareness and understanding of the spiritual values of the holy month of Ramadan.
Japen Sabah Director Jainisah Mohd Noor said the programme was also broadcast live via Japen Sabah’s official Facebook and TikTok applications, enabling the public to follow the knowledge-sharing session online.

“This initiative is timely and in line with Japen Sabah’s core role of disseminating beneficial information to the public through various media.
“This digital approach is a comprehensive method to attract target groups and can be implemented more widely, quickly and accessed easily by all levels of society,” she said when met after the Japen Sabah Special Ramadan Edition TeaTalk Programme.
The talk show featured Deputy Dean (Academic) of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Dr Issraq Ramli, as the guest panellist, who discussed the topic “Ramadan Is More Than Just Fasting”.
Meanwhile, Issraq said such programmes should be held annually, including during major Islamic occasions, as they help the community enhance their spiritual knowledge.
“Congratulations on organising a programme that brings many benefits to Muslims. We can further increase our knowledge and rewards during Ramadan.
“We hope this programme will be further strengthened by inviting and attracting more viewers to attend in person, in addition to utilising all social media platforms,” he said.
Also present were Deputy Director of Information Azman Sipan; Senior Assistant Director of the Community Communication and Development Division Peter Tong Ah Pin; Senior Assistant Director of the National Policy Publications Division Norehan Kipli; and Senior Assistant Director of the Psychological Operations and Issues Management Division Sulia Banying Gihang.
