Four-day search ends with fisherman found dead in Papar
PAPAR: A four-day search and rescue operation ended Thursday after one of two fishermen reported missing at sea off Kampung Kuala was found dead.

The incident was reported on Feb 16 when the pair failed to return after net fishing near Pantai Manis.

One man, Primus Ujim, 52, was rescued earlier in safe condition.

The body of Saimon Ongit, 60, was discovered near Pantai Kampung Sangkabok, about 71km from where he was first reported missing.

He was identified by family members before being handed over to police.

The operation, led by the Papar Fire and Rescue Station with assistance from police, maritime and civil defence agencies, was officially called off at 3.23pm.
