Kota Kinabalu: Two people sustained injuries after a fire destroyed three houses in Kampung Tebobon, Manggatal, here, early Sunday.
The blaze left a 60-year-old man with burns on his hands, legs and back, while a 48-year-old woman suffered minor burns to her right hand and left leg.
Both were taken to the Tuaran Hospital for further treatment.
A 5.43am distress call prompted firefighters to the scene located some 15 kilometres away.
A total of 20 firefighters were deployed to the scene, comprising 10 personnel from Lintas Fire Station and 10 from Kota Kinabalu Fire Station as backup.
The operation was brought under control at 6.41am.
The operation ended at about 8.30am.
Police and Sabah Electricity personnel were also at the scene to assist.
The cause of the fire and total losses are still under investigation.
