TAWAU: Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) Sri Tanjong candidate Philip Yap said his decision to contest stems from years of public frustration over Tawau’s recurring water disruptions.
He said residents were not asking for special treatment but simply wanted a stable daily life with access to reliable water supply.
Yap said his commitment was to pursue practical and realistic measures that address the root causes behind Tawau’s ageing and strained water infrastructure.
He said long-term solutions such as the Tawau Dam and the Cinta Mata 2 water treatment plant must stay on schedule, alongside a gradual replacement of decades-old pipes that continue to leak.
Yap said he was ready to work closely with federal agencies to secure coordinated support, adding that every step he takes will be guided by sincere engagement and clear action.
