Kota Kinabalu: The Kota Kinabalu Journalists Association held its Annual General Meeting on Friday, marking its 36th year in operation.
Chairman, Datuk Jimmy Goh, said the event proceeded smoothly with study incentives and co-curricular awards distributed to members’ children who did well in school.

“We express sincere thanks to KKJA Permanent Honorary Advisor, Datuk Eliza Goh, for generously sponsoring the 2026 Study Incentive Awards and co-curricular awards,” he said.
Also singled out was SugarBun for sponsoring RM100 meal vouchers for each award recipient.
Jimmy also acknowledged the association’s Permanent Honorary Advisor, Datuk Tan Kai Teck, for sponsoring the day’s lunch.
He noted that the association has grown steadily over the decades with the continuous support and guidance of its Permanent Honorary Advisors, whom he credited as central to the organisation’s longevity.
Addressing the student award recipients, Jimmy urged them to remain driven.
“We would like to encourage all students who received the awards to continue working hard, keep improving, and contribute to society in the future,” he said.
He also said that the KKJA’s Press Day celebration, which had been postponed last year due to a state election coinciding with the AGM, would return to its regular date.
“This year, our Press Day will be held on August 31,” he said, adding that all members were welcome to participate.
