31 May and 1 June holidays, Wesak and Agong's B'day
KUALA LUMPUR: The government has confirmed public holidays for Wesak Day on 31 May and the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s Birthday on 1 June.

Kesuma said the Agong’s Birthday is a mandatory non-replaceable holiday under the Employment Act 1955 for eligible private sector workers in Peninsular Malaysia and Labuan.

Wesak Day is a selectable paid public holiday.

If a public holiday falls on a rest day, the next working day becomes a paid replacement holiday.

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
Employers using Sunday as rest day and selecting Wesak Day must observe 1 June as the Agong’s Birthday holiday and 2 June 2026 as the Wesak replacement holiday, subject to mutual agreement changes.

Eligible workers earning RM4,000 and below are entitled to holiday pay if required to work.

Employers are reminded to comply with the law.
