KUCHING: The European Union has expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with Sarawak, particularly in green energy, investment and human capital development, aligning with the state’s focus on sustainable growth and energy transition.
EU Ambassador to Malaysia Rafael Daerr said Sarawak’s forward-looking development agenda matches the bloc’s priorities in expanding renewable energy and building long-term economic resilience through strategic partnerships.
He said this during a courtesy call on Sarawak Premier Abang Johari Tun Openg at the Satria Pertiwi Complex, adding that Malaysia remains a key partner for the EU in promoting shared prosperity, regional stability and coordinated engagement with European companies operating in the state.
