SANDAKAN: A proposed major restructuring of Gagasan Rakyat divisions ahead of GE16 is aimed at strengthening, not reducing, the party, said acting Youth chief Datuk Azrul Ibrahim.
The plan would reorganize 74 divisions into 26 based on parliamentary constituencies to streamline operations, avoid overlap, and reinforce the party machinery.

It will be decided at an extraordinary general meeting on May 17.
Azrul said GRS Youth also aims to contest in GE16 to bring youth voices directly to Parliament, while remaining committed to the 40pc Sabah rights issue under MA1963.
The Youth’s statewide tour, which has covered over 40 divisions, will continue to boost readiness for the upcoming election.
