KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor presented a RM5,000 state incentive to Muay Thai athlete Emmabell Cassandra in recognition of her international success.

The award ceremony was held at the Sabah State Legislative Assembly building on Thursday. Hajiji congratulated Emmabell for winning the women’s category at the Byon Combat Showbiz 7 event in Kuala Lumpur, calling her achievement a source of pride for Sabah and Malaysia.

He said her victory highlights the ability of Sabah athletes to compete globally and serves as inspiration for young people to pursue sports. The event was attended by several state ministers and officials.
