LAHAD DATU: A 42-year-old civil servant was arrested in Lahad Datu on Monday for allegedly breaking into a house in Tanjung Batu Tengah, Tawau, last month.

Police said the suspect was detained around 10.45am along Jalan Tungku, Felda Sahabat, following a report lodged by a 61-year-old woman on March 26. 

She discovered her home had been broken into the night before, with the back window grille damaged.

Stolen items included two laptops, a 60-inch TV, a watch, shoes, handbags, and other personal belongings. 

Some items believed to match the stolen goods were recovered from the suspect.

Police stressed they will take firm action against burglary cases regardless of the suspect’s background and urged the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity.
