LABUAN: Activist Fauziah Datuk Din hopes the proposal by former Chief Minister Tan Sri Harris Salleh will be considered as the island needed projects and not talks and more talks to move forward.
Besides all the major projects planned and implemented by Harris like the Petronas Plant, Steel Mill, Sabah Energy Corporation, Shipyard and the Flour mill are still running smoothly and bringing in revenue,” she said.
Fauziah whose father was the late popular outspoken local leader Datuk Din Jaffar said, “Since no compensation was given for the federalisation of the strategic and oil exporting island in 1984 ,the refinery could be the payback opportunity for the Federal Government for Labuan”.
She said Harris had been often criticised for giving away Labuan for free though it was not a one-man decision.
