LABUAN: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) here has intensified its enforcement operations across the island, with 94 premises including six petrol stations inspected in a single day’s operation on Saturday.
Its Chief Enforcement Officer Amiluddin Malang said two enforcement teams comprising 10 officers in total were deployed to carry out the checks across the island’s commercial areas and its surroundings.
“The inspections covered aspects of supply, pricing, weighing and measuring equipment, as well as other compliance requirements under legislation enforced by the Ministry,” he said.
At petrol kiosks, inspections focused on ensuring that controlled goods such as petrol and diesel were adequately stocked and that no irregularities were taking place.
Operators were also checked for compliance with diesel filling limits for land transport vehicles and conditions attached to special permits.
Enforcement teams additionally monitored the implementation of the BUDI95 initiative, which governs access to the targeted RON95 petrol subsidy to ensure only eligible individuals benefit from the programme.
Amiluddin urged petrol kiosks operators and workers to ensure full compliance with every BUDI95 transaction to prevent misuse of MyKad cards by irresponsible parties.
“The Ministry will remain committed to carrying out continuous inspections and will not compromise on any party found to be in violation of the regulations in force,” he said.
