KOTA KINABALU: A fire broke out at a mechanic store in Kolombong on Tuesday evening, destroying about 80 per cent of the semi-permanent structure.

The emergency call was received at 7.19pm, with firefighters from Lintas station arriving at the scene within five minutes.

The site is located about 2km from the station.

A total of 11 personnel were deployed, using a single 100-foot hose line with water sourced from the fire engine tank to control the blaze.

No casualties were reported.
