Dr Mary Gambidau appointed chair of Unduk Ngadau 2026
KOTA KINABALU: Dr Mary Gambidau from Telupid has been appointed chair of the Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan State-level pageant 2026, taking on a key role in organising one of Sabah’s flagship cultural events.

Her appointment underscores efforts to strengthen the pageant as a platform for preserving heritage and empowering young women as future community leaders. Datuk Joanna Kitingan was named adviser, providing strategic guidance to the organising committee.

Preparations began in February, including early finalist assessments in line with KDCA directives to enhance professionalism and transparency.

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
The event will run from May 26 to 31, featuring 52 finalists from across Sabah and Peninsular Malaysia.

Hilton Kota Kinabalu has been confirmed as the official hotel for the event.
