Part-time teacher claims trial to sexual harassment charge involving student
KOTA KINABALU: A 46-year-old part-time teacher pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here to a charge of physical sexual harassment involving a male student.

Adrian Charles is accused of asking a 16-year-old boy to perform oral sex at a house in Penampang at about 4pm on July 16, 2025.

The charge, under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, carries a penalty of up to 20 years’ imprisonment and whipping upon conviction.

Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan granted Adrian bail of RM6,000 with two local sureties, despite the prosecution’s objection that the offence is non-bailable and concerns over possible witness interference.
