Kota Kinabalu: A student from Sekolah Menengah Integrasi Teras Islam (SMITI) Al-Hafidz Kota Kinabalu has made history by scoring straight 9As in the 2025 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations — the best result since the school’s establishment.
Remarkably, all nine SMITI Al-Hafidz candidates who sat for SPM 2025 passed, maintaining the school’s 100 per cent pass rate for the second consecutive year.
Principal Mohamad Farouk Hamzah credited the achievement to the students’ consistent dedication and their discipline in balancing Quran memorisation with academic studies. “This is a very proud achievement. These students have proven that religious school pupils can excel in mainstream academics,” he said.
He added that strong support from teachers and parents, as well as a conducive learning environment, contributed to the success.
Top scorer Khadijah Idris expressed her gratitude: “These results are the product of my parents’ prayers and the tireless guidance of my teachers. I hope this success will inspire my peers to keep striving and never give up.”
The school’s milestone highlights the potential of Islamic and tahfiz education in Sabah, showing that religious schooling can nurture both spiritual growth and academic excellence.
