Kota Kinabalu: An 18-year-old Bajau Laut youth charged with illegal entry was released on bail after submitting documents indicating he was born in Sabah.
Sessions Court Judge Hurman Hussain granted bail of RM2,000 with one local surety to Mohd Nico Ansboy, who is a student at an NGO-run alternative learning centre.

The court ordered the surety to be the principal of the learning centre and required Mohd Nico to report to a police station here once a month.
Defence counsel Sherzali Herza Asli submitted documents including a statutory declaration by a Ketua Kampung, a vaccination letter and a Borang A application to the National Registration Department.
Mohd Nico, who previously pleaded not guilty to a charge under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for being in Sabah without valid documents, will return to court on April 30 for case management.
