TONGOD: A man is facing life imprisonment and caning after being arrested with methamphetamine in an operation at Kampung Simpang Entilibon, Tongod, on Monday.
Beluran District Police Chief, Supt Hasan Majid, said the 42-year-old suspect was detained during a Crime Prevention Patrol by Tongod Police Station officers in the area.

Further inspection led to the discovery of 32.35gm of methamphetamine believed to belong to the suspect.
“Urine tests showed the suspect was positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine,” he said on Tuesday.
He added that the case is being investigated under Section 39A(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
The suspect was taken to the Beluran District Police Headquarters (IPD) for further investigation, including remand procedures.

At the same time, he emphasized the ongoing commitment of IPD Beluran personnel, together with the local community, in combating drug-related crimes in the district.
