In a Facebook post, he said the issue goes beyond politics and highlights concerns over higher diesel prices in Peninsular Malaysia compared to Sabah and Sarawak.
He questioned the rationale behind the price difference, noting that global factors such as the Strait of Hormuz and market conditions were cited, yet did not affect all regions equally.

He also raised concerns over the impact of rising diesel prices on small traders, farmers, fishermen and transport operators, saying these groups bear the brunt of cost increases.
M Fakhruddin said public anger stems from perceived inconsistencies in policy implementation and the broader cost of living pressures.
He urged the government to address the concerns and ensure policies are responsive to the needs of the rakyat amid current economic challenges.
