SEMPORNA: A man was detained on Wednesday after authorities discovered he was transporting 69 gallons of petrol and one gallon of petrol-2T mix without valid documents, during Op Taring ESSZONE – Op Taring Bravo 1 in Semporna waters.
The operation, led by Komtak Mabul of Batalion 22 PGA Kunak with the KPDN Semporna branch, followed intelligence reports.
Officers found the suspect unable to present identification or permits to store, possess, or transport the fuel.
The total value of the seized fuel is estimated at RM75,000.
The case is being investigated under the Supply Control Act 1961.
Batalion 22 PGA Kunak reaffirmed its commitment to intensified intelligence and enforcement to keep ESSZONE waters safe from illegal activities.
