SANDAKAN: A conveyor machine was destroyed in a fire at Sawit Kinabalu Jetty Sdn Bhd, Phase 1, Jalan Ulu Sibuga Batu Sapi, here on Sunday.

The Fire and Rescue Department received a call at 5.09pm and a team from Sandakan station arrived at the scene at 5.30pm, about 15 kilometres away.

The fire involved a conveyor machine measuring about 800 feet in length, which was completely burnt.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control at 6.51pm and fully extinguished it at 10.15pm using water from a hydrant, with no casualties reported.
