Nationwide e-sports challenge
The campaign was a celebration of e-sports competition and the Ramadan festive spirit.
Kuala Lumpur: The PUBG Mobile Squad Showdown Ramadan campaign has concluded its nationwide tour after drawing 286 teams in a tournament held across eight Malaysian cities, including Kota Kinabalu and Miri.

The esports tournament began with an online qualifier from Feb 13–15 before moving to offline qualifiers staged from Feb 20 to March 7 in cities including Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru, with organisers expanding activities in East Malaysia following strong support from fans in Sabah and Sarawak.

The campaign brought together hundreds of teams nationwide in what organisers described as a celebration of esports competition and the Ramadan festive spirit.

Product Manager of PUBG Mobile Malaysia Ashley Phuah said the turnout and enthusiasm from players and fans were encouraging.

She said the campaign was not only a tournament but also an initiative aimed at strengthening community ties and giving back during Ramadan, while thanking participants and sponsoring partner ARC Helmets for supporting the event.

Besides the matches, the offline qualifiers featured activities for players and spectators, including free food and beverages, merchandise giveaways and lucky draws where eight ARC Helmets helmets were awarded at each location, totalling 56 throughout the tour.

A donation drive held during the offline events raised more than RM5,000, which was distributed to nearby mosques at each host location.

Gaming influencers also appeared during the tour, including Wanpro in Kota Kinabalu and Chillrex in Kuching, where they interacted with fans.

The competition now enters its final stage with online finals scheduled from March 13–15, where top teams will compete for the title.
