Nizam expressed strong support for the event, saying it represents an important platform for sport tourism development in Sabah.
He said the eighth edition of the Ruhiang Kiulu Adventure Challenge reflects how sport tourism contributes to youth development and creates positive economic impact for local communities.
Also present during the courtesy visit was the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Datuk Mansur Asun.
Steve said the event marks a significant comeback after a five-year hiatus and the organisers are optimistic about rebuilding momentum and growing the event in the coming years.
He said 350 participants have so far confirmed their participation, while the programme will also feature traditional games and cultural side activities to promote community participation and support tourism and small businesses in the Tamparuli–Kiulu area.
