PENAMPANG: The Penampang Municipal Council should immediately begin formulating a comprehensive plan to evaluate and rehabilitate all roads under its jurisdiction.
“A large number of roads maintained by the Council, particularly those within residential and housing areas, are more than 40 years old.
“These ageing roads are no longer adequately served by routine patchwork and short-term maintenance carried out by concession contractors,” said Pritchard Gumbaris, Political Secretary to Warisan Deputy President Datuk Darell Leiking.
“PCC must be proactive in identifying which roads require full rehabilitation, rather than relying on repeated and ineffective maintenance work.
