TAWAU: A 54-year-old man was injured after the Perodua Kembara he was driving skidded and plunged into a 20-metre ravine at Simpang 4, Jalan Bukit TV, here on Saturday night.
District Fire and Rescue Station chief Jemishin Ujin said the victim was rescued by his team and given initial treatment by the Fire and Rescue Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit before being sent to hospital for further treatment.

He said the department received an emergency call at 8.07pm and arrived at the scene, about 10 kilometres from the station, at 8.25pm, with the operation involving eight personnel led by Zouragana Konin and two fire engines.
In a separate incident, two workers’ quarters were destroyed in a fire at Jalan Kubota, Taman Pinery Height, here on Saturday afternoon, with 15 personnel and four engines, including logistics support, deployed to the scene.
Jemishin said the department received a distress call at 2.38pm and arrived six kilometres away at 2.44pm, with the fire brought under control at 3.05pm and operations concluded at 3.32pm, and no casualties reported.
